Via a small prebin equipped with full and empty indicators the product enters the draw-in area of the steaming screw. By means of the specially shaped and arranged mixing paddles on the worm shaft, the product is moved forward in the screw in the direction of the outlet.
Hydrothermal treatment of the product is achieved by adding steam, either directly into the screw trough via special nozzles or indirectly. In the case of indirect steam addition, the steam is added into the double jacket of the steaming screw, which causes the product is to heat slowly and gently.
The steaming screw is available in two different sizes, both of which are completely made of stainless steel. Special frequency converters ensure continuous regulation of the speed, so that the retention time can be optimally adapted to the respective processes or products.
Advantages of the steaming screw:
- Efficient treatment
- Optimum retention time
- Simple, compact and sturdy design
Usually, the SCHULE steaming screw is used in combination with the hydrothermal conditioner or the kiln. After conditioning, the individual oat kernels or oat groats are flaked on the flaking roller mill.
